KEMAL_SAHINAssociate Professor Dr. Sahin was born in Malatya/Turkey, did his graduation from Istanbul University School of Law (1994), and completed his traineeship at Istanbul Bar (1996). Meanwhile he started to work as a Research Assistant, and started his LLM studies, at KOU Law School in 1995. He was a visiting scholar at St. John’s University Law School in New York (1998-1999). He was awarded a full-coverage scholarship by the EU Commission to follow his second master (MA in Human Rights and Democratisation) at Malta University (2002-2003). While he was a PhD candidate, he completed his traineeship through working at Venice Commission, Council of Europe (2005). He finally finished his PhD in public Law at Istanbul University in 2008, and started to work as an Assistant Professor of Law at KOU Law School. He was awarded a scholarship by Turkey’s Scientific and Research Council to study and work as a visiting scholar at the University of New Haven (USA), and was a reader in the Lillian Goldman Law Library of Yale University during fall semester. Dr. Sahin worked in many Councils of Europe Projects (mostly funded by EU) especially in the field of protection of freedom of expression. He has been awarded and assigned -by an academic jury selected by Council of Inter-Universities of Turkey- to be an Associate Professor of Law in general public law and human rights law. He currently works at Yalova University in Turkey. He is the author of many articles and books (both in English and Turkish) in the field of public law, human rights law (especially in the field of freedom of expression).
